Pending on how well we have contained the contagion through applying the lockdown it would be a mess when it is discovered that a delivery became contaminated, seeing that this has happened overseas and with testing kits.

As long as good hygiene is practised at the e-tailers and couriers everything should be okay, but I see you still need to sign with most couriers and wearing gloves and masks doesn’t prevent contamination. Squirting and wiping something with alcohol, well, it needs a good rubbing and washdown to be preventative.

Yes, the economy needs to be operational.

The government is largely the cause of misrepresentation. What is the definition of basic goods when it isn't aligned with basic rights? This is a valid argument for reasoning in court.

People have different needs for different purposes, all of which may be deemed as essential.

If the government, or the Dti, needs a guide for reference they can call SARS for the customs duties list and work their way from there for establishing the criteria and categorisation of essential products for the public and for that of the essential services provider.

From initial consultation this rule is suppose to run through your permitted services provider with whom essential goods may be organised for essential employees. This isn't how things turned out.

Agree, but you cant just supply computer hardware to people, and ship it (the couriers actually don't want to ship non-essential goods) to people not involved in essential services. Remembering the reason for this, is to reduce human interaction.

Go to any Makro/PnP/Checkers and see what they have done. These products are def. not allowed.

Also - have a look at the fines. Wootware should be aware it could have serious business impact, and they prob will get reported.

There is an addendum that specifies what is essential which is law. As for basic goods it has nothing to do with basic rights. Basic goods, no matter how you argue it, would not be PC hardware.

Many businesses are working from home and were encouraged to do so, including non-essential ones. Do you now advocate shutting those down as well?
These dumb fscks want you to print essential business certificates but they won't allow you to buy a printer cartridge... this is the stupid kuk people have to deal with, instead of some common sense we get the jackboot totalitarian approach.

Because the government has determined which business activities and products are essential/basic and listed DSTV as allowed and not a new computer.
