Workers hacked to death amid strike

So be it! For the sake of our future!

Thats the problem.. the future would be a potentially very messy place if we go down that road. We would probably end up in a worse situation in terms of violence.
 
The problem is that the mine workers want to be paid similarly to mine workers in places like Australia... however, those foreign workers offer MUCH higher productivity, so for our mines to be competitive globally, the individual workers can't get paid the same.

But try and explain that to the striking workers...
 
Earlier this morning Amplats CEO Chris Griffith was under attack for his R17 million package which John Robbie said it does not make sense in the context of the situation.

Chris also reported that majority of strikers want to accept current offer and come back to work.
