Does anyone know what SA's ranking will be when it is published tomorrow?

thanks, i know that. just curious as to how many places we will jump.

With the performance and improvement I would expect a fair margin. I mean we beat France and performed well, at least far above expectations. Would be interesting to see tho.

You expect a 20 place jump up the scale with 1 draw, 1 loss and 1 win? Maybe a 5 point hike due to the fact we beat France...

Not quite, the ranking works on the importance of a match ( ie world cup, world cup qualifiers, friendlies etc) the ranking of the opposing team, the strength of the federation ( ie CAF, UEFA ) and a few other variables. also take into account that our previous results will start to diminish as it's getting older and it weighs less on the scale. i reckon a big jump could be expected.

True. Also the results from the previous 4 years are included in each calculation with the matches played, albeit with a lesser weighting as results get older. At some point during the past 12 months we went without a win for 10 - 11 matches...that's still going to prevent us from making climbing rapidly. But if we carry on like we have been doing lately maybe in another 6 months or so we might start to climb very quickly.

Oops! You beat me to it.

Well they were last updated the 26th of may so not sure how many friendlies that takes into account. I don't think Bafana will move that high up with a single draw and win.

It depends a fair amount on the quality of opposition. The win against France and draw against Mexico will count greater than the loss to Uruguay.

I reckon it will be a gain of about ~5 places.

Some people are really getting ahead of themselves... a 30 place improvement, I think not...
