World's first digital laser unveiled by CSIR

Think this might be groundbreaking for the nuclear fusion testing laboratories in France and America.

Might just help solve the worlds energy needs.

Very interesting.I wonder whats the digital reflective surface they are using to replace the mirror that can be computer controlled.

I presume standard flat mirrors to change direction is all hat would be needed. No more specialised shaping mirrors or lenses required. ;)

I always assumed you needed a lens at the end to concentrate the beam otherwise the concentrated beam would cut/vapourise the mirrors.
 
Who is the master mind behind this? I want a name and his team if possible. I presume he will relocate to LLNL in the next year or 2 :D
