World's priciest energy

It's not a sure thing, but I hope it doesn't happen..
I think government should subsidize Eskom instead of giving out grants to people who breed like rabbits

Solar energy systems is still more expensive and it will still be in three years time. It is also more damaging to the environment.

A solar water heater makes a lot more sense. You save on water heating, which is a major part of your energy consumption, and there is no harmful materials involved.

No not all enron, enron lied about services they did not deliver.

Even if we become the most expensive the energy will still be supplied.

Enron is unlike anything i have ever seen, they sold BS. You should watch the movie, amazing stuff.

Yes, but what enron did, and what eskom is doing, is the same thing. Remember in the movie, the "switched" off power to drive up the price of electricity in california, what do you think ESKOM is doing now. As soon as people start to debate about the amount of the increase...they immediately rush in with their "ACE"....LOADSHEDDING

Then how?

A solar power system typically consists of photovoltaic cells and a battery storage systems. The manufacturing of PV cells (solar panels) involve chemicals that are harmful to the environment. The manufacturing of the storage batteries typically also involve dangerous chemicals.

The lifetime of a PV cell is about 25 years and a battery even less than that, so after that it needs to be replaced. Currently it is still difficult to recycle solar panels and I don't think South Africa has such facilities. The same goes for the battery.
