By 2012 South Africa could have the world's highest electricity tariffs, after boasting to have the cheapest rates for decades.

Nice going ANC. You sure know how to stuff up a country.

Well, at least SA will be equal with those countires in one way. Always look at the positives :p

Yep it smacks of Enron.

No not all enron, enron lied about services they did not deliver.

Even if we become the most expensive the energy will still be supplied.

Enron is unlike anything i have ever seen, they sold BS. You should watch the movie, amazing stuff.

And another positive - at least we are world leaders in the crime rate:rolleyes:

Solar energy just became super viable I think.

Solar energy systems is still more expensive and it will still be in three years time. It is also more damaging to the environment.

A solar water heater makes a lot more sense. You save on water heating, which is a major part of your energy consumption, and there is no harmful materials involved.

Pathetic but its good to see the end of the cheapest electricity meme which everybody kept repeating, it was getting a bit ridiculous.

If you go to various banana republics around the world you'll notice in the poverty stricken, sewage infested streets buildings that pass for apartments or shops running on generators. We're heading in the same direction :(
