My daughter has an iPad mini (original ipad mini "ver1" non retina) which is about 1 year old. Unfortunately it was dropped and the screen is now broken. Is it worth repairing or should I ditch it and just buy a newer version. I've scanned prices online and original replacement screens seem to be around R1.5k to R2k, which is almost half the price of a new one (ipad mini 1 from zastore).

Do ipads with broken screen have any 2nd hand value? Not sure if I should flog it with the broken screen and just buy a new iPad Mini 3 for her.

Suggestions/advise/input welcome.

Donate it to me..I'll give it a good home

Buy new one at istore and get that 2 year warranty thing with. Sell the broken one. Or dump it.

I know a guy in PTA that does a good job of fixing phones and tablets. (Propper business)

Thanks for the input guys.

Also phoned around today and interestingly discovered that you get "generic" iPad screens on the cheap from China mall...

If is was the 64GB/+ model, it might be worth repairing. However, since it is the 16GB version, I'll try and flog for it for R1k (with the broken screen) and see if it sells.
