Would you date a smoker?

social smoker

I am fortunate enough to have a gf who smokes like me, at a party after a few drinks we'll have a few smokes, but the next day no craving to continue to smoke at all.

"I'm sure my penis can't tell the difference between a smoker and a non smoker"

Then I guess all cats are gray when you switch off the light as well

No way! Got an intense dislike of smoking when I got asthma as a little kid.

So did I, but now I smoke myself. Still don't like the smell much but I'd rather have a smoke GF than a non-smoker, unless the non-smoker was totally cool about it. Then not having her smoke is actually a plus.

No. I can't stand people who smoke. What's the point? Do you enjoy the taste? It stinks up the air. It stinks up your clothes. It stinks up your breath. Name one good thing about cigarettes.

There isn't really one, you basically just get yourself addicted and then it's nice to smoke. People might say it's relaxing as well.

I don't know why most people would start smoking except for the coolness factor when you're young. But that's how I did it and now I'm hooked and enjoy it.

Yes I would, and I have. But no smoking in my car, in the house or when pregnant.

Nicotine.

So I said, she can do what she chooses to do but this time there was no way I would be involved with a smoker. Note that I was excruciatingly clear that I was categorically NOT telling her to stop; she could smoke all she wanted, any time she wanted. Just not around me. Or, if she wanted to continue a relationship with me, at all. But I never said she couldn't or has to stop or (and this is the 'wiser' part) forbade it.
Of course you were telling her to stop and forbidding it.

I have a rule about these things, if I am expected to stop doing something I really enjoy, then I get to pick something they have to stop doing.

No. Pretty soon you're wasting money buying her cigs, driving at odd hours to find a place that sells because she's run out and will die without her fix. Being nagged to sit in the smoking section of a restaurant and you have to burn your clothing after. Being nagged to let her smoke in your car, not to mention having to mill round aimlessly while waiting for her to finish getting her fix. Waste of ****ing time.

No, I won't date an addict. Again.

To all the smokers, how's your lungs? :p

Methinks if you live in a city (JHB) aka The Big Smoke. One is smoking about 20 cigs a day by breathing in the wonderful clean air. So living in a city you may just as well smoke. Just put a brown paper bag over your head if you do not like your partner smoking.

You must be a smoker, i smoked for like 10 years only been clean for about 6 months but that is BS, sitting in a room full of cigi smoke and standing outside are far from the same thing.

It is actually disgusting how intense cigi smoke can be. If i am near a smoker i can smell it on me for the rest of the day. It is only smokers who cannot smell how disgusting it is.

I dont usually mind it, except if i am at a pub/club. I have to remember to put the clothes in the wash basket outside the bedroom, because the smoke smell is that bad.
