Given the opportunity, would you buy a Tesla Model 3 electric vehicle?

not really, as I think the tesla is too expensive, and too gadget laden for a electric car,
as electric cars are wonderfully simple things, but they HAD to add complexity in order to sell the idea

if they made a tesla lite, that was like a tazz/citi golf but electric powered, id think thats a great idea.

If the price point was acceptable, and the support and aftersales was available in the country, then hell yes.

Though I would prefer a Model S...

I spoke to my friend who is a manager at BMW. He had the opportunity to look at the Tesla and told me it's incredibly 'cheaply' built.
Bad paint jobs, inferior quality materials etc.

No.

1) They have some worrying design oversights.
Munro also chides the Model 3's lack of a mechanical door handle in the rear. Up front, there’s a little lever in addition to the electric door-opening switch, but in the rear there’s not. In the case of an emergency that cuts the car’s power, Munro says, you’d have to fold the seats back and exit through the trunk. (Obviously, you could go through the front seats as well).

2) They are ridiculously expensive.

3) Spending large amounts of money on cars is stupid.

as was my point earlier, electric cars are NOTHING new, been around for decades, including when the model T was around,

the tesla is just a luxury car dressed with an electric motor,
its easily possible to build something MUCH cheaper and MUCH less complicated that's also electric.

I mean if they had to release a tesla lite, people would buy that surely?

the model 3 is just a car for people who spend too much on simple things.

Yes. But not yet.
I'm treating Musk's projects like new software. I never get the newest stuff, I wait for the first update.
In a year from now - when the production line is stable and the first software updates and any upgrades to the design is out.

Likewise - I would not fly in his BFR, until the Block II is operational.

I'd love for me next car to be electric so yup, I would (price dependent blah blah blah)

When the technology has matured and there's actual infrastructure for it in SA, then maybe.

And he may have a point, but for a company that has only been producing cars for 10 years they are way ahead in some areas, but obviously behind in others when compared to companies with much larger budgets who have been producing cars for 100 years +
