hi guys

so im on mweb uncapped... and yes I know its crappy for gaming but sometimes its really not an option to be eating GB's on a unshaped account at R100/GB :( I have WE unshaped prepaid, but its getting pricey!!

I used to use battleping (?) when it was free, but now I see you have to pay...

what are the other options? is anyone else using this kind of service?

your thoughts and experiences please

I rented a VPS (A Virtual Computer) in Germany for about 6 Euero's a month, the software was easy to setup, and it worked well enough, and I had full control over which port to use in the tunnel.
You failed to mention which servers you play on, so it's kind of difficult to help you, USA has a completely different routing setup from Europe/TheEast.

my apologies... Im on Lightbringer (EU)

I dont really have experience with setting up a proxy, so I would have to go with one of the "ready-to-go" options...

Just not sure which one

I have been using lowerping for a year now and it's great, easy to use and easy to setup, cost's around R50 a month but it's well worth it. I get around 230 - 300ms in 25man raids

Im trying out this reduce the lag option, and I gotta say so far, battleping is about 200ms better on average

There must be something wrong with your setup.
With RTL i'm on 214ms right now. Theoretically almost impossible to get much better than that from George by my calculations... (Using WA on a 6mb line)

its totally safe. the only time you are going to get banned is if you are are a retard and constantly switch between proxies/normal connection. And even then, its only for about 3 hours and a password reset. Blizzard dont perma ban anyone anymore!

Or you can set it to use local ip with WTFast.

IMO Battleping FTW. at $15 for 3 months its really not bad and i haven't had any issues with them.

I've been using Smoothping for the last 2 months, I swapped over from Lowerping as I found it was cheaper and gave the same amount of reduction in latency(210~ms).

Do Blizzard still ban people? Two years ago I got suspended while using it, then out of the blue (while not using a proxy) I got Banned.

You might get suspended due to the IP change, but as has been mentioned, it's very quickly resolved - took me 30mins through their system.

I'm also on mweb uncapped. Used to have super crappy latency 600-1k. Started using Wtfast after Cataclysm got launched and I'm on a constant 200-250 latency ever since. Wont ever use anything else. Seems to be rock solid and very cheap (+/- R50 a month). Also If you sign up now and do the survey thingy on their site you get 7 days extra.

+1 to Lowerping. I've been using it for a few months and combined with Mweb 4mb uncapped i usually get around 180-210ms.
