I've been toying with the idea of buying some from Aliexpress.

I doubt it'll be genuine Samsung memory but desperate times call for desperate measures...

Non ECC memory won't work on a gen 8 microserver.

I've tried it and can confirm that you'll be SOL.

I checked the link when you asked, I see it's RDIMM. Then I think eBay is your next best bet or create a wanted thread and see what shows up.
