2nd time ADSL is down in 3 days...nice up-time there Telkom we are paying a kings randsom for ADSL at least make sure your equipment is not from cash converters.

Even i-burst has better up-time.

and NO i'm not in CT.....JHB south.

Ive also noticed it helps nothing to phone them because all you get is yes we have a problem..no **** I did not know that i just phoned to say what a wonderful job you are all doing and hope i can make a special donation somewhere to help your poor performace in 2004 of 6.7 billion profit...

i thought i'll add that just because i got nothing better to do ATM since I CANNOT CONNECT TO INTERNATIONAL SITES.

yip...i had major trouble even getting here. Its been my first month on ADSL from iBurst, at let me tell you i feel right at home with the no service attidude from telkom

yeah it is getting from bad to worst !!!

I can see second Zim looking at how things are going here ...

funny, im still working, even though my mate up the road is off!

well the international is not working ... no icq, no gmail etc. ...

local seems to be ok

so anyone has any suggestions what we should be doing about this crap?

is this problem affecting the dial up I wonder?

It doesn't affect MTN GPRS for sure as I am connected right now to do my urgent stuff ...

I'm on the east rand, same problems here. Remote Desktop specifically not working. I phoned M-Web technical support and they said there is a problem with international browsing...

How are businesses in ZA supposed to compete with the rest of the world when our already overpriced comms are repeatedly stuffed up by the total ineptitude of Tel<sound of a guy falling onto the floor, rolling around and yelling every possible swear word, in every possible language at every possible frequency>scum?

I am getting really p!ssed off with this because I can't get into Gmail!! Most other things work fine.

tell me about it! And we will be paying few times more soon! Thanks to telscum!

Same **** as what happened during the weekend. Most UDP applications, in fact everything besides irc (tcp 6667) and browsing (tcp 80) are broken for me.

My unshaped account works fine though? So it seems as if this is a problem with Telkom's shaping system being overloaded or something...

And myadsl.co.za is going bloody slowly. Either a SAIX->Datapro(UUNet?) peering problem or its just being flooded with angry telkomdsl users...

Bloody annoying.

i reckon everybody mail their noticeboard support and use very colourful language in expressing your views. call their "customer support" and use equally colourful language.i just sent two emails to them and called in only to be told "we are aware there is a problem but don't know what as yet" - this is now unacceptable even for a "best-effort" service. if we are paying full price for connectivity, why is it only working for half the damn month. FFS i can't even get my mail off my local ISP through outlook.

[email protected]

funny thing...when i try log into my Imaginet account im now getting a 'could not connect to domain' but with a mweb account i get in straight away, still bloody slow but at least im in. any thoughts on that?

I am not going to be surprised if telkom bans all protocols but HTTP and few others soon.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but hey, paying R2000+ for 30GB account at 192 kbps speed from 1 of November is also ridiculous but everybody seems to have accepted it.

Looking at how things are going, I expect in a year time the world standard for internet to be 20+ Mbit with no limits on traffic for max 20 pounds per month, while the SA standard will be dial-up, or ADSL with 2-3 GB at 192 kbps at 50-60 pounds per month.

While this brainless monkeys are handing on the management chairs in telkom, we will be seriously screwed ...

**** i hope i am wrong but this looks like some serious fking shaping to block the various free proxies?

I wanna play Counterstrike and Steam won't even log in!

God Telkom for the same price as your rubbish we can get 3 24mbps connections in the UK! Fix your crap.

Steam Updating - 0% Complete.

The whole internet is very slow at present and it is after hours.
This is unacceptable service Telkom!

what's the point, isn't local going to be under the cap from 1st November anyway?

It is not slow! It is completely not working! If I can't login to ICQ which is using like a meg every 2 hours, nor to gmail, which probably need 1K per 10 minutes, then it is not working!
