I have been reading a lot of articles and forums about Telkoms proposed updates. The 4mb to 8mb and now 10mb updates. This is getting past pathetic. Every article is the same thing. " We can not confirm or deny this, we can not release any date, we have been planning this for three years" blah blah blah:mad:

This is like saying that that VW has invented a car that runs on air and leaves no noxious fumes and the entire car is recyclable and its been in the works for 5 years and the car only needs to be serviced every 15 years and will cost R10. Except we cant confirm or deny its existence, We might see it in production but we not sure if we can build them or not yet.

Im sick to death of empty promises from Telkom. They are truly the poster child of incompetence.

So true... but one would wish that Telkom would start coming out with stuff like what MWEB did - they 100x bigger yet the smaller boys have more balls than Telkom.

and less profit! :D

And what about WebAfrica? They are a T1 supplier and look at their ridiculous prices. Time for them to wake up too

Speculation suggests that Telkom will start upgrading 4 Mbps ADSL subscribers to 10 Mbps before the 2010 World Cup

I'm not defending Telkom but it pays to read these articles carefully - Telkom aren't saying anything, more's the pity.

ok, well for me the speed would be nice, but personally i think they should increase the 3gig cap to 10gigs at least, since MWEB offers uncapped 384 connection for less than i pay for my 3 gig cap...

and i think they should try getting 10mbps all round too... and telkom really needs to sort out the bandwidth pricing, cause if they did there's be more South African sites actually hosted in South Africa...

It's probably the PRO or marketing that is the person "close to Telkom" and the info is released unofficially, and off the record.
