WTF is power steering fluid...and why is it empty?????

Wont the fluid work better if we put some KY in there also....you know...just to make it extra slippery? Bet I will be able to throw a 180 turn like nothing else with some KY in there also hehehe.

Perhaps it would be best if Occie reconsider & take the car to VW after all ..

Yay.....just spoke to my friend and she said she will take a can of it home tomorrow and I must just come past her and she will fill it for me. :-)

lol :D Don't waste the KY on the car, keep it for yourself. Power steering fluid is for hydraulic assistance and not lubrication. Puting KY on the tyres might help you with those 180 turns. :)

Had a power steering fluid leak on the wife's car a few years ago (picked up from the noise it started making when turning). Located the reservoir and topped it up. Started the car and got somebody to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock while I stared at the engine, locating what was moving (and where the pipes were). Wiped these clean and repeated. When the steering was fully locked to one side, noticed a drop of fluid at some seal and that was the problem. Didn't do anything about it though, besides keep some fluid in the boot and top it up every few weeks. The quote to fix it was bit much for what I thought was necessary. Sold it months later and showed the dude the leak - he said he could fix it for cheap and wasn't concerned.

So not a good idea then? :erm:

Thanks again for the help guys. Gonna go past my lesbian china tomorrow and we gonna fill this baby up together. I hope we can get the bonet open hehe.

But now, seeing that I cant put KY in there....how about using the PS fluid as lube then seeing that there will be lots left going by your posts here? Waste not want not as they say hey lol. Will that work? :p

you could if you REALLY INSIST on doing so.

KY always works for me!! ;) :D

I find PS fluid a little too thin and not slippery enough.

lol. Perhaps I wont....they mentioned that it is green in colour. Does not sound appealing!

I am so excited to do this myself. Now I just need to find a D&G overall to make sure I dont spill on my Guess jeans and violllllaaaa....GAY MECHANIC!!!! :D

Next stop. Changing my own oil! :p

Aww but look at all the lost opportunities where you could have a cute butch mechanic in cut down denims doing it for you!;) :p

BTW...just the cap is green...PS oil is pink darling, as all good oils should be..;)

Normally it is pink like brake fluid, but VW's own one is green odd and I wouldn't mind a lesbian mechanic but then again most lesbians aren't like the ones in the movies sigh...

Awwww....I want the PINK PS fluid....why is VW green? What food colouring must I put in to make it pink?

I've always found a half teaspoon of raspberry colouring works wonders.;)

Please don't try this! I did this 2 years ago and apparently sugar clogs up the system, and fudge comes out your car's exhaust

Don't worry. Your car's coolant is pink :) (I hope, otherwise someone's been messing with it...) And the PS fluid is a very nice green.

Wow...all this fluids and lubes happening in my engine...who knew.
