WTF is power steering fluid...and why is it empty?????

mmm crap...I dont know!!!! All this fluid, lube, transmission, green caps, pink fluid, green fluid has me all confused!!!!! Is it too late now to rebook my appointment so I can find out!!!!!! hehe

Just be careful, if you leave it too long like this you will likely damage the Power Steering Fluid Pump which will cost a hefty chunk of cash to replace.

Not too worry....my friend that I was talking about earlier got the fluid out of their warehouse and I will be popping past her to fill my hole erm the ag you know what I mean! lol

yep!
also, don't forget to check your coils, the radiator fluid could become corrosive if you don't empty the purging valve early enough. remember to test the voltage on the battery and make sure it's at 2.21 JiggaWatts

QFT = Quoted For Truth or Quite Fscking True
Brake fluid - yes, as you described! It's normally in an opaque plastic container. On the outside of the container there's a line - that's the ideal level. Do not overfill...

MickeyMoose....hold me!!!!! They are scaring me with this! Is it a car....or is it a death trap???????

Me gonna fill up the power steering lube goed...and thats IT!!! As for the rest...ill take my chances till VW services me...erm my car again mmmmkaay!!!!!!!

Its hydraulic fluid (similar to brake fluid) and not expensive at all. Your garage should have it. Of more importance; VW **should** have picked this up and checked for leaks. Although it is a trivial problem, take it back. VW deserves a bollocking and must check the system for leaks.

Note: Don’t flirt with any ‘cute’ guys. Makes it difficult to administer the bollocking.

Well guys, my friend brought the fluid home and we poured it in. Was easy peasy. Opened the hood and there it was....little green cap with "Power Steering" embossed onto it. Open it up and the little reservoir thingy was extremly low. Filled it up an screwed the cap back on.

What I will do is monitor the level now to see if it goes down again. If it does then I sure will take it back to VW. First thing...why did they not notice the low level fluid??? Surely that is a standard check for a service?

Thanks again for the advice guys. Really appreciate it. You just saved some money by telling me this is something I can do myself. Who would have thought :-)

At Palimino. Flirting with cute guys is like blinking. It is involuntary reaction. It just happens with no input from my conscious brain. :-)
