My point re the staying anonymous thing, is that its not out of fear - its actually a useful strategy and tactic so that Sentech cant clearly see who the Enemy is (to their terms of reference) - the old Mafia line about 'keep your friends close, but your enemies closer'. So its not out of fear of what Sentech might do/be doing - but simply that by staying anonymous, one can attack them in a variety of unexpected ways, online and offline, while maintaining the illusion to them, of being one of the 'grumpy-but-putting-up-with-it' customers.
Also, why make it easy for them to assemble a checklist of vocal customers, and then allow them to deliberately increase speeds to those vocal ones, effectively silencing them - while the majority of users who arent as vocal, sit and suffer with their 9600 baud 'broadband'. Anonymity removes this tactic, among others, as an option in Sentech's arsenal..
(And yeah, because they're immensely stupid and arrogant, they clearly have been behaving as if they're doing US a favour, and their public stance against those who arent getting the service they're paying for, is that of an Enemy.
They dress up the Enemy concept with patronising words, and deliberately used slurs about our 'illegal file downloading' and not 'not understanding the contention ratio' and so on - but at base, Sentech, by their actions, doesnt care, and regards we who complain, as an enemy.
This cant actually be changed - unless various corporate personnel are fired, and a new business approach is adopted by Sentech.
So who actually runs and owns Sentech? Is it a government body? Stockholders? Who is the actual power above the CEO?
Those are the people we should be phoning and faxing..
When dealing with a 1950's pyramidical business structure, the only way to fix anything, is by determining where and what the top of the pyramid is. Nibbling at the base of the pyramid, where the supermonkeys of the call centre meet the dirt, will never change anything.
So in reality, who or what body/collective is above the CEO? Who does the CEO have to report to? Those people are the ones to approach to demonstrate there'll be a fall in profitability if certain area's are not adressed.
Concepts like 'it's not fair' dont work in hardcore capitalist business - only things that impact profits, will make a difference. So that's the only stick which Sentech will respond to.
The only reason Sentech have bothered to make any public comments, is because the rising tide of customer protests is beginning to impact on their profit forecast models. Nothing else.
So its all - to borrow from the Godfather again - 'strictly business' with them. They dont care about the personal aspect at all, and appeals from any perspective using the angle of 'we are being unfairly treated' dont mean anything to the monolithic capitalist structures, who see us as merely cyphers that provide X profit each month.
So in order to impact further on this impersonal structure, we have to impact on their profit model further, as well as determine who the real power rests with. Find that, and appeal correctly to that - and the ripple down effect through the pyramid, will remove the morons who've been slavishly following orders from above - especially if the ripple effect required, increases profits.
So who pulls the CEO's strings? What's the thing at the top of the pyramid? Not the figureheads and appointee's like Winston etc - at the top there's something else..? Stockholders? Trustee's? 6 or 7 businessmen? What?
