WTH??? Petrol going up again!!!!!

That not a k@k question I must say, do you know you need electricity to be able to drive a Electric Car and the best and easiest and most cheapest way to generate electricity is petrol or diesel, but if you use nuclear it’s even cheaper but you will have some radio active materials that will be very into decay mode and emit some nice α, β, γ rays - Alpha, Beta and Gamma
Not nice, and you cannot dispose that stuff it stays in decay mode for a very long time, isn’t is something like 1000 years or more
And today the worlds population get higher and you wont be able to begrawe that stuff any more in the plakkers kamp.

So some people somewhere will need to leave a beer bottle and design something to get free clean energy and maybe bomb the oil companies if they give k@k !!! - recommended

Put some solar panels on that wasted urban space called your roof that points directly at that big energy source in the sky and use them to charge your electric car. Problem solved for at least 25 years with the warranty on the panels! :D
 
We looked into getting one, just ONE, solar water heater for our large house with 3 geysers (so we'd need 3 ideally), R23 000* for ONE!!! Not going to happen...



*Would be R17 000 IF one was able to get the R6000 government subsidy...
 
The Toyota Prius has been in production for a while now.. seem a few of them around.

It still has a petrol engine. I see more manufacturers are going into Hydrogen cars, which is just as wrong, its still a fossil fuel. Why not carry on with Electric car technology??
 
hehe!!!!!!!! well what can we say... maybe we should have petrol pumps in our backyards to cut out the middleman! its ridiculous!

I think it is because electric cars are too simple to maintain and power, thus there isn't enough profit to be made in the service of them. Think how much money is involved in repair shops, oil changes, parts suppliers not to mention Hydrogen now requires you to fill up in a petrol station just like the old way. They keep things very much same but different[. Besides, Hydrogen is a farce technology to save us from fossil fuels. They are just leading us on with it. :(

I think I made this clear earlier in the thread. Use that wasted space on the top of your house and put some photovoltaics up there. Then you power your house and car with renewable resource. the :) !

And I am not convinced that it is not cost effective. Yes, on a small scale, house by house basis right now it appears to be. But long term, infrastructure/investment of gov't resources, etc it is cost effective IMO. Think how much it costs to build, maintain, mine, transport coal power all around. Now you can say, hey Nuclear! but it costs to build, maintain, build transmission lines etc for those too.

If all that money was put into people being more self reliant and into their homes, it would be cheap in comparison. But it is in the interest of about every gov't to have centralized infrastructure to offer to people, for one reason or another.

Solar cells can not generate enough power unless some Chinese design a better solar panel and sell it for R100 a 1000W panel

Radiation won't affect you if the plant is well managed and there are proper ways of storing nuclear waste.
 
Theres so many ways they can power the cars!!
How do you heat your pool at home? Theres solar, theres obvious normal ways of powering it, the manufacturers will have there own plants etc etc

You should do a search about the levels of radioactive material in the coal that they burn to create power - and hence release directly into the atmosphere in small, breathable particles.

Ok I’m agree 50% with you, but in South Africa, you don’t get something like “well managed” here. Maybe if you run the plant or project all by yourself, than there might be success, but if you look a koeberg that houtkope dropped their nuts in the reactor or something, just like it going in the gov

But generate some electricity but from solar isn’t enough and in the night, where’s the sun, we cant store these power in the good way, maybe in our new HH-Battery from Bert Human EnergyX there might be a change, but not 100% sure

Your right, if you burn Charcoal you release carbon, the Carbon combines with Oxygen and release CO / CO2 but with Hydrogen If you burn Hydrogen then it combines with Oxygen and form H2O, you will lose your head if you go deeper in it, donners complicated.

But to come back to “radioactive material in the coal that they burn” do you mean pollution, like CO2 or do you mean Radioactive materials like Radioactive Carbon - Isotopes C-14 or Isotopes from C-1 to C-11 and C-14 to C-22, C-12 and C-13 is the only stable carbon you get that doesn’t cause radiation
