The City of Pretoria is smaller than JHB, Durban and Cape Town, yet PTAWUG is bigger than Jawug, DWC and CTWUG, are we doing something right or wrong ?

Ek is huidiglik 'n PTAWUG user van ongeveer Jan 2009.
My ondervinding van WUG is iets wat ek nie gou gaan vergeet nie.

Ek was al op DW (Die Wilgers),CP(Constantia Park) en het later besluit om toe self 'n HS op terig nl. Koedoeberg met die help van 'n paar ander users.

By elke site leer mens iets nuut van die WUG, ontmoet nuwe mense en hoe die WUG eintlik werk.
Ek maintain steets KB HS al is ek net 'n normale user wat wys dat enige iemand (al is jy net 17) iets kan doen vir WUG.

Ek het meer geleer oor netwerke op WUG as in skool (Ek is nog op skool ja :( ) en hoop om steets meer te leer.

Ek is bly ek het betrokke geraak by WUG en hoop dat meer van die 600+ users ook ophou lui wees en van hulle gatte sal afklim en help om WUG meer awesome te maak.

My onderfinding van die admins is dat almal hulle self dood werk en dat 80%+ van die users nie eers weet hoe harde werk dit is nie en dan gaan moan users oor iets mal soos "Ek kry net 4mb/s(32mbps) fix dit NOU!".
As jy will kla oor iets fkn try eers dit self fix,los die admins uit hulle doen reeds alles, raak betrokke en hou op om op jou gat te sit en leech.

Om af te sluit will ek se dat WUG AWESOME is en ek stel dit voor aan enige iemand indien hulle betrokke will raak en meer will leer.

As jy vrae het oor enige iets kom net op IRC, want notepad is awesome, maar 'n multiplayer notepad soos IRC is awesome^2.

All i wanted to say is that I thought that the complaints of a user where haddled badly by some.

I think its funny how some take it personally rather than try make it productive critisim. Infact,.. i am still laughing at them.

I guess,... complaints unless you have hard evidence is not welcome. you'll be flamed LOL

I think WUG is great,... I support it,... but dont complain,... you might get some emo guys takig things personally rather than them just reading a complaint and asking themselves if they want to do something about it.

As is stated on ptawug.co.za and the internal wiki - IRC is the main comms medium of PTAWUG, all issues, complaints, plans, problems are to be sorted out there. It's the fastest way of getting responses, in fact, most issues and problems are sommer resolved by users helping their fellow users in #ptawug.

as for the emo part, wtf ?

As for solmed's complaint, he was told exactly, repeatedly what to do to resolve the problem, by different people. Yet he refuses to do so, who's fault is that then ?

THANK YOU ADMINS of Ptawug i was wugged on sunday but for the Past month i was hounding admins with Stupid newbee questions and not once was I insulted or looked down upon, I as a newbee was treated on par with Admins' and when it was time to get my IP I asked a few admins and within literally seconds I was helped. Thought the admin helping me forgot cause he said wait a sec and it was five minutes and no reply, i asked him if he was there and he was very polite and told me hold on a little longer and within a minute he replied with my IP's not only that but he setup my RB with the IP's for me. Thanks pigdog, Protzkrog, RomeOs and all the other admin's. And to think they do all this for free
 
WUG is awesome

I joined PTAWUG seven weeks ago and must admit, it has been the best investment I've made in years.

I've learned more from the WUG and its community about technical stuff (wireless networks, OSPF, BGP, routing, NATing, etc) than I've learned in the past few years.

People who complain about the WUG joined it for the wrong reasons or wrong intentions. It's like booking a stay in a guesthouse and then complaining about the lack of room service - if you wanted room service, you should've booked into a hotel, NOT a guesthouse.

So to all those bitchin' an' moanin' people, first learn what the WUG is about, before complaining because it isn't what YOU want it to be.

Thanks to all the admins busting their guts to keep the whole WUG running. And to all the users who donate time, money and resources to help grow the WUG. It's an awesome concept, run in an awesome, actually very effective, manner.
