Anyone know if its getting released in S.A, or if its already out?
Its been released in Europe already.

If anyone has played x2, u know how addictive it is :D

I received my copy yesterday. Ordered direct from Egosoft. The game looks beautiful - screenshots simply don't do it justice, but am having some framerate issues.

Eeeek! Isnt there a shop that has it on the shelves???
I dont want to wait 2 weeks :(

I see that there are two patches out already for the game - one to 1.2 and another for 1.2.0.1
maybe they will fix your framerate issues.

Hmm, Take 2 says 10-15 days which is unusually long. I suppose X3 is too obscure for the local game importers to be bringing it in.

Can't wait to get off work and play some more.:D

Naw, I patched straight to the latest before starting the game up. I'd even downloaded the patches ahead of time. The original must have been really bad.

The game is looking to be as addictive as X2 so far anyway. Hopefully the 1.3 patch improves performance some more.

Just for reference I have a P4 3.2Ghz, 2Gigs of RAM and a Geforce 6800U.

Arg i wish there was an actual store that has it!!
I really want to play it but im not waiting 2 weeks :(

Ever heard of a game called Elite? X3 is similar to Elite.

Well its free roaming space simulator (far from arcade-like), similar to Freelancer but on a much grander scale. However, the game is more about trading than fighting (at first). You can create your own coporate of mines, factories and traders, build up a huge fleet (and be able to pilot any ship in the universe) then invade another sector to destroy their economy and improve yours. Though I hear in X3 you can also become a bounty hunter (unlike X2 - because of really bad dog-fighting gameplay) or even a pirate. The world and economy is completely dynamic and changes depending on what you do. However, its sucks up time quicker than a blackhole. (Good thing I took off 2 weeks in December) There is also a story-mode which you can choose to follow or ignore.

I also heard that you can pick-up a copy at BT Games in Northgate. (I'm going to buy it this weekend)

Killadoob, X3 and X2 for that matter won't be to everyone's taste. The game is hugely time consuming to play and things happen at slow pace. If you're looking for a quick shoot-em up then X3 is likely to dissapoint. In X2 it probably took around a month or twos play to get to the point where you could afford to buy and equip the more powerful ships.

Hey Andre, got the game yesterday and been playing for a couple of hours.
Its pretty cool but very buggy, hopefully the 1.3 patch will sort it out.
What did u think?

I recommend waiting awhile with X3. There's really bad bugs in this one. The European guys i spoke to ( who got it a bit earlier) is still very pissed off at all the bugs. They suggested i wait at least until the 3rd patch is released.

The first patch was already >>80MB+<< ...that should tell you something.
To top it off, the 2nd patch is another 25MB .... and the 3rd patch was "delayed" [probably because of the sheer amount of bugs to fix...]
