So lately I have noticed my XBMC acting weird. I will add a new show in sickbeard, it will create the folder and "season 1" and then download and move the first episode into the season 1 folder. That works perfectly.

Sometimes when in xbmc I will navigate to said show and it will not show the poster but only show the xbmc folder icon. Even if I refresh or download art and select which poster to show it will not change from the xbmc folder image.

This is happening not only with new shows but also sometimes with new seasons. Is there a way to rectify this? Its not a major problem, just a bit irratating not having everything exactly the same.

Thanks.

Permissions?

Why not have Sick Beard add the media info during post processing rather than have XBMC add it?

Why don't you get Sickbeard to move and rename the files for you? Perhaps it's the way you're naming the files?

Ok so I only saw the replies now. I have sickbeard set to rename all the shows but what or where is the setting to let sickbeard add the media info during post processing?

Same page, under metadata, select xbmc and tick all the boxes (except for banners unless you prefer that)

Thanks, appreciate the help. When selecting that option will it not clutter the folders with a whole bunch of files for each episode or will it only be one file per episode?

You'll get a few files per episode but then you sort by File Extension and it's all dandy. Otherwise I never really have a need to go into the folders :)

Yeah I also only go to the folders when copying things for other people so its not really a issue. Was just wondering if it would happen. Thanks

So I changed the settings as recommended but still sit with the same problem. Folders of new show or new seasons do not show the posters, instead it still shows an image of a folder.

Any other suggestions? Even if I manually select to use the folder image that was downloaded, it still displays the image of a folder...

I have the same issue and it is because it grabs the art from tvdb iirc. Some new shows and seasons tend not to have the new artwork available when sickbeard pulls it in. You have to manually download the art, name it correctly, and then on the TV show or season, pull up the context menu and select to choose artwork. Go to the folder, select the art, and a few seconds later the art will show up. You can then export the video database to separate folders to avoid it happening again...

It is a tvdb limitation as tvdb relies on people to upload info and artwork. Sometimes they're a little late to the party for new seasons and sometimes make mistakes...

Thanks for the explanation. Will give it a bash later on. Is there a different provider thats more up to date?

Also, why is no one else complaining about this?

Nope. The standard scraper is the best. You can set it to grab fanart from one other source, but standard artwork only comes from tvdb...

Ok thanks. Guess I will just do the renaming until (hopefully) the issue is resolved.
