Hi All

I would like to see how many free streaming channels are available on XBMC.

At the moment I have gotten the BBC channels to work perfectly.

I'll make a how to if anyone is interested.

It's quite easy to spoof an IP in XBMC. I have BBC channels, iplayer channels, aljazeera, South Park, a few gaming channels etc. None of which work particularly well on my 2mb line (bufferville)!
 
I wasn't referring to the south park select and play type of things..

The reason I'm looking for this is because I'm tired of selecting what I want to watch..
I miss just flipping on a TV and having something random play.

Al Jazeera and the BBC stuff is perfect examples of awesome streaming.

BTW.. I have a 1mb line peaking at 0.90 on speedtest and it plays awesomely provided there are no downloads or anything active.
 
What plugin do you use to achieve this? I tend not to do streaming a lot, but guess it might be a good idea to start!

I was told by our "mutual acquaintances" that you and the misses eventually got rid of DSTV. Congrats on convincing the missus on that one - I didn't think she was capable of dealing with the crazies so well...
 
Ah but you see I planned it...

1. Found a show she really likes (Beauty & The Beast)
2. Let her watch it as much as she wants.

A week went by with her not even switching over to DSTV. This was her "deal breaker" for DSTV as she saw how pointless it was wasting money away with MonoChoice....

But back on topic...

I tested streams with Futubox and it was perfect...
But it's not free.. though it's only R106.
 
do you get cbeebies. thats the only reason i have dstv. seriously...

Sorry for the delay.. work is a bit hectic.

Yes Cbeebies is one of the channels.

If you have a 2mb line and up I would suggest X-Navi for most things.. there are awesome channels available there that are live streams.
I use a separate plugin for the BBC Channels.. these are SD quality and the only reason it streams properly on my slow connection.


I have a 1mb line at the moment and trying to convince the madam that an upgrade is seriously needed :whistle:

I'll make a how to tonight and post it.

Please post any other live stream channels and plugins that you know of... (really would love some SABC Channels without doing the TV Tuner card route)

I used to use Super TV and rmtpGUI but havent really watched tv in months as work has kept me busy.

Would love to kill the dstv subscription as well but only thing stopping me is cbeebies. If i can get SABC as well then no need to swop between channels also.

Hi all


The easiest would be to add Fusion.

I'm using Frodo, so simply go to System > File manager > Add Source > http://fusion.xbmchub.com/
Once this has been done, go back to the main screen and select System > Add-on > Install from zip file > Fusion
This should list a few options for you to choose from.
The main ones I have installed are as follows:
Programs > Navi-X
Video > Repositories > Xbmchub
For the UK Channels, you can download the add-on
ExPat TV

Also you may want to check out >>FilmOn >>

I had to do this in a hurry as madam now wants to watch her shows...

Will try them.

I have used Navi-X and it worked to some parts.
Some buffering with some of the channels.
 
Once you have fusion added, install the xbmchub wizard.
Run the wizard, follow insteuctions and profit!

Mash up , 1 channel and icefilms is higly reconmended.
 
The GiddyUp Network in ProjectFreeTV.GiddyUp.Elorado repository from Fusion is also pretty good, 24/7 streaming.
