Xbox 2333 setup help

Like I said before, yes you can. I previously only had one optical input on my sound system and wanted to use both a media pc and the xbox on it. So I had my optical cable go from the xbox to the optical input on the pc, then from the optical output on the pc to the sound system. Only think you need to change is the passthrough setting in windows when you want to use the xbox. Works perfectly and then you don't have to switch cables the whole time.

Yeah but I don't have a optical input on my Logitech X530 sound system, thats the problem.

You don't need it. Connect the optical cable from your xbox to your pc. Leave the speakers connected to your pc as is. When you want to use the Xbox, enable the spdif passthrough setting in Windows. That's it.

Best advice - Get a PS3

And that's going to resolve his problem how? Pointless post

Well not always. This depends on if his sound card does support this feature. My optical sound card has two optical port (in and out) and also does not support the feature.

Are you sure? Any soundcard with optical input should have it. Maybe not the correct drivers or something?

That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. OK so it does work that way?  :D

Went after work and picked up a VGA cable, and it is seriously wow compared to my TV.

I found a connector that came with my logitech system, and that is the xbox connector, sound is working fine, but will need to swap the jacks depending on if I want to use PC or Xbox, but I think I can deal with it. Might just use headphones for the PC.

Thanks for all the replies and help.
