Not at the moment Faffy, 360 and PC high end target are the same. However if you want to play them on PC, the equivalent graphics card alone would cost you more than the entire 360, you'll have to keep upgrading, and there's no resale on PC hardware.
I agree with doobiwan. Noone denies what a pc CAN do, but in reality not many people can or want to afford that.
I hated consoles until I got sick and tired of having to upgrade my gfx/ram/hdd/monitor on my pc. I then got the original Xbox and have not looked back since.
Pity they can't seem to get games like Warcraft 3 or Starcraft on Xbox's working nicely though. That and NFSMW are the only things I still play on pc's
Unfortunatly a pc does cost a reasonably large amount if you want the best quality but you also need a very nice TV to get the best from the xbox360, nothing is cheap :/
pity it had to be LOTF:BFME2 and not DoW on the X360 as its debutant RTS game.
one thing most people forget is that you dont really need a TV to play on the xbox 360. I occasionaly use my widescreen LCD with my X360 when my wife kicks me back into the PC room.
Simply use the VGA HD adapter and voila, games play @ 1280x720 with all the crispines you need.
You will only know you are playing on a console due to the joypad and graphics are crispier than what my 7800GT GS can push them. A big plus is that any DVDs played on the X360 whilst connected to the VGA HD adapter get upscaled to 1280x720.
So there, you dont need to fork out R12k or more for a HD screen, just get a WS LCD which for a 24" would set you back at least R4-5k.
Theres definately pro's & cons choosing Xbox vs PC
I have found some of the 360 versions of games much better than the PC. Take GRAW for example. On the 360 there is much more depth and the team AI is much better than the PC version. But you can download maps, patches & addons for free on PC, Xbox live charges
Although, since I've updated I have neglected my Xbox somewhat. Mostly because I've finished all the games and I've just bought a beefed up PC. Im prolly not gonna buy anymore games for the Xbox because when I get ADSL hooked up I'll be on BF2 constantly.
P.S. - The Xbox360 BF2 version BITES!! Too "arcadee" not enough strategy. PC version ROX!!
One of the main draws of the Xbox is Xbox Live and unfortunalty like all internet related things in SA it will be second rate at best. Until fast, uncapped, affordable broadband is common in SA the Xbox will not reach its potential.
