I’ve recently bought a new 802.11n USB wireless adapter. When I plug it into my Xbox360, the light on the adapter doesn’t turn on (that is: no power). The adapter works perfectly on any PC, and I tried a bunch of other USB devices on my Xbox (including an old wireless adapter) and everything works, except my new adapter.
Any ideas to what caused the problem?

Ok, I was wrong, I've tested the adapter on my Eee Pc, and it doesn't work there either. Can it be that not enough power is sent through via USB???

It may be that the Xbox doesn't support that particular device, normally a USB device powers up under low power, and only once it has initiated a connection with the computer, does the full power become available. My guess is that the Xbox is either not recognizing it, or the Xbox is not set up to support any wireless adapters other than the ones made for the Xbox.

Just my guess...

Its also quite possible that the device is not putting out enough power. When you plug it in, does the Eee start looking for drivers? Or it just sits there and does nothing?

You have to update your XBox with the latest firmware and then it will work.
