Hi

I have been using the xbox 360 wireless controller (for windows) for games on my pc for a while. However yesterday after powering on my computer it wasn't working. The ring just keeps spinning on the control.

I tried troubleshooting and in device manager it showed connected, but there is a problem. So I tried updating the drivers and still nothing. I have basically tried everything that I could do myself including restoring my PC to before the last update.

The light on the wireless receiver doesn't illuminate after plugging it into the USB port, thus I was wondering if anyone knows if I can buy a new (third party) adapter and connect the wireless controller to the PC ?

It's most likely a blown fuse, it happened to both wireless receivers I have. It's a relatively easy fix if you're prepared to open it up and do a little bit of soldering. I did this, and haven't had an issue with it since.

Thank you

I will give it a shot
