as title states i dont know which one to go for?

what are the advantages of have the hard drive ect? note sure if i should just get the arcade, pro what? and the cheapest places??

what are the real differences between them?

il just be casually gaming on it, once to twice a week nothing serious?

any one got any input ???

casual gaming, you can't go wrong with an Arcade ...... cheapest option. If you have the cash spare, get a Pro (especially if you have a hidef TV).

Lol @ Mephisto ;)

The Arcade is a really good deal if you never plan on going online. Just throw in a generic HDMI cable as well. The included MU is enough for saved games and Profiles. You can upgrade to an HDD later, but it's more expensive than buying one bundled.

If you want to download content like XBLA games, demo's, movies, expansion packs etc, all of which you can do for free then the Pro is the one to get, it also comes with an HD cable and headset so that's a bonus.

The price difference for the elite doesn't really justify the 120Gb over the 60gb Pro. You get an extra audio breakout and HDMI cable, but that's it.

I would say go for the pro - you will do OPTIONAL game installs in the future and downloading from XBL is worth the extra couple hundred or so.
The HDD gives you extra flexibility.

English 101? ;)

Subject -> action

If I had said "download free content like XBLA games", then that would have been funny ;)

still confused though

so you can "download content like XBLA games, demo's, movies, expansion packs etc" for free, but you have to pay for XBLA games?

i'm just not understanding where the free part comes in now in the "all of which you can do for free" part.

All demos are free from Castle Crashers to Too Human.
Some games are free, I know of one game that is free to US LIVE account holders - Aegis Wing.

What I was saying is that it's free to download almost everything on Live. I'm not saying XBLA games are free, you download the whole thing as a trial and if you want to purchase the full thing then you have to buy it, but some of those trials are pretty darn full featured. Geowars for example - I've never beaten the trial version

Agreed on the Pro.

The Arcade has almost no resale value and xbox live is really worth it.

I think he was trying to say that you don't need to pay for gold membership to be able to buy games.

You can buy games using the free silver membership.
