XBox360 vs PS3 - Help wanted

How is the SA online experience on PSN

i am going to be honest i havent played on psnin a while, i have an xbox and my brother has a Ps3, i tried it out at his place, and i its hard to descrinbe but the xbox live feel is just better, sorry its not very logical explanation though :(.

on another note how old is your daugter? my daughter is 5 now I bought a Wii for her 2 years back and she liked it alot just needed help nagvigating the menues in the games etc (still does now) she always needs us to be there when she plays . I got the Kinect recently, and she can navigate the menues much easier and requres less asistance from us.
How big is your tv room the Kinect need qute a bit of space, about 2metres from the tv to the playerand about double that width wise

2yrs old - TV room is large enough for it, i noted the room width on the net - is it also true that sunlight and kinect is a nono

2 still a bit young, but at least you thinking ahead :)

Depends where the suns rays (or even your room lighting) are directed if its shining directly at the Kinect it will caus a problem if its behind the camera then its fine (actualy beter), remeber its a camera so lightsource should ilumanate the subject (the player) not the lens

Im guesing you have it set up fine already as sun shining directly on the tv would havew been a problem

I don't know if XBOX has wireless capability, but I do know that the PS3 has :D - I've got a sweet wireless setup at home where I can now stream stuff from my pc to my PS3 and of course to the LCD tv. Yeah, I know, I'm a noob. I've had my PS3 for 2 years now and I've only discovered that recently XD .

Your wife will LOVE the Kinect. Coming from a Wii, with the balance board and Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, the fitness games on the Kinect are years ahead. You just can't compare having controllers in each hand, with a device that tracks your whole body. It's really awesome. My wife also loves Dance Central. Very cool concept of letting you learn the moves and then combining it all in the songs. And for "party games" there's Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures. We've played for hours on both and each time it's a blast to play. I thought it's going to be a bit gimmicky before buying it, but it works fantastic.

I don't see why people are going for the PS3 move? There's only one good game available so far, and that's the Tiger Woods game. Why go for something that MIGHT be good at other games. Also no fitness games like you're looking for? Again, just a lot of promises from Sony, while you can already get it all with the Kinect.

huh, good point. can anyone verify this if I can connect XBOX to wireless DSL router

With the new released Xbox 360 you can connect via wireless yes. Also the 360 wireless is faaaar better then the PS3's, I've got both and the PS3 wireless is slow and I mean dog slow and it's not as easy to setup either. The 360's was go to Network under the system tab, select wireless and it was ago. The PS3 was go to this tab, then go through about 6 steps before it will connect, then it needs you to sign in to verify psn id, go try this nope sorry lost signal to the wireless router sigh. I own all three of this generations console and the 360 is definitely better for noobs.

gees, u guys have been a massive help. It appears im leaning toward XBOX360, the thing is , if i were a single dude living on my own, it would be both, without a doubt, since I have a family it appears I will get more benefit out of an XBOX 360.
Kinda like weighing up buying a super fast SUV and a sports coupe - both quick and comfy, one is more practical.

Well, you can buy an arcade for R1799 at Chaos Computers, which includes the latest Scene It game, with the 4 wireless buzzers, and the You're in the Movies game, with the camera. The You're in the Movies game is kinda crap, but the Scene It is fun in 4-player mode.

Check with Musica for the new 250gb Xbox 360 S + Live Subscription + Chatpad + 2 games for R3499.

Incredible also have the 250gb Elite + 2 games for R2999.

I think Makro also has some deals.

Tomorrow there might be another thread like this and people will reply all over again, seriously don't you people get tired?

Not going to get involved in one of these debates again. I'll just add my 2 cents and be gone:

- Your Blu-ray player will get outdated, the PS3's Blu-ray functionality is always up-to-date
- Exclusive PS3 games out already: LittleBigPlanet, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, Resistance 1 & 2, Uncharted 1 & 2, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 4, inFamous, WipEout HD, Demon's Souls, some Ratchet & Clanks & ModNation Racers
- Exclusive PS3 games coming out in 2011: LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, MotorStorm: Apocalypse, ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, The Last Guardian, Agent, inFamous 2, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One & Twisted Metal
- PSN works just fine

If you're buying a video game console, all you should care about are the games. Those PS3 exclusives are pretty staggering, especially the 2011 releases. I have a PS3 and I wouldn't have it any other way. The LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted games alone justified the purchase and I couldn't live without them.

I considered purchasing an Xbox 360 just for Your Shape on Kinect. Luckily House & Home had the game set up outside a store once and I watched some middle aged guy make a fool of himself for a few minutes. It's looks very gimmicky. Spent my money on a gym subscription instead.
