XFX Geforce 7900 GT

Review

Has anybody ever seen a lengend 7900GT review? Im trying to find one. Looks like the only people who seem to talk about Legend cards are the guys in SA?

Google legend 7900GT and you find the prophecy site etc.

Cant seem to find a review on tomshardware, anandtech, hardocp or any of the major sites...

Same.. but i have heard talk, and i have not yet seen the cards... Google only brings up a local SA site. Well we'll see tomorrow when the cards arrive here.
 
How come nobody knows about these cards? Are they guys in China producing them exclusively for the SA market?

I’m sure the cards are good – just wondering why they don’t exist overseas….or rather, are not easy to find?
 
dont know....

but gigabyte is good. mostly everything i have is gigabyte. i think why they so expensive is because all their products have a 3 year warrenty. and that does come in handy. ask me i know. they replaced my ati radeon x700pro about 2 months ago so it good allright....but even ASUS is more then that. i think for the same card its about R3600 (ASUS 7800GT). so once again R1000 off is gooooooooooooooooooood...:D
 
As far as i know the Legend brand is made by an Australian company.

True though that i haven't seen any Legend reviews.
I own a Legend 6600GT and i have no complaints, it's served me well.

Dont expect much packaging wise. Come's in a box just big enough for the
card and that's pretty much all you get.
 
legend takes the card NVIDIA give them an just stick there stikker on throw it in a box and ships it off....where xfx gigabyte Asus..etc. develop there own boards and improves the card and throws in extra cables and cd's....much better o and throw's in a warrenty of 3 years(gigabyte i know of)

AFAIK ATM all 7900's are Nvidia refrence designs, so they're all basicaly the same cards

I'll scratch out the link soon.

But from the articles i've read all brands / manufacturers are using the exact same ref design but adding their sticker and or cooler/heatsink to it.

Anyway, end of the day it's what floats your boat, if yuo want a name brand get it, if you want a lower costing brand get it.
 
Nothing. They give you a box. They give you a card. hence a lower costing product.

That just tells me that either Legend are working on smaller profit margins to gain market share or XFX is working on larger profit margins for a big bling bling box.
 
There is actually a difference in the boards from the manufacturers. Be it in the RAM they use or by paying extra for the 'higher quality' GPU's. It’s been mentioned that certain manufacturers pay extra for the 'better' GPU's. (I remember reading a post on this forum about it)

I guess one of the ways to cut costs is to get the standard ones, and use normal RAM....

Anybody know where there is a review between a 256meg GT and 512meg GT? Is there even a speed difference?

AFAIK the GPU's that are paid extra for are all used for cards that come factory overclocked, like the XFX XXX edition or Gainward GS.

The RAM might be different, but the rest of the boards are Nvidia reference designs, it's the easiest way to get cards out onto the market as quickly as possible.

Same goes for the newest ATI cards, in reviews that I saw most X1900XT's looked EXACTLY the same, bout half of the manufacturers didnt even bother putting their own label or sticker on the cards.
 
THANKS AP0C! Great card, great price and received it the next day. Works great and thanks for selling direct to the public. I think if you sold more cards like this you would force retail stores to bring down thier prices. I mean incredible corruption sells 7800gtx's for R5500...and they don't even know about 7900's. Thanks for the advice aswell.
 
Looks like the price of R2599 seems to have hit the spot so. Still have a few cards left so if you want more, let me know.
