Xiamo Redmi 2 offer from Afrihost

What are the opinions on this offer from Afrihost?

Redmi 2 White for R1799

Anyone have any experience with flashing it to

1. Android Marshmallow Resurrection Remix ROM or
2. Cyanogenmod 12.1 ROM

My mom has some crappy old Samsung and I'd like to upgrade her to a better phone.

The one from Takealot might be a better option, the pro version for R1899. Double the memory and storage of the standard model which Afrihost sells.

I agree, the 1GB on the standard model is a bit tight. Bought my daughter the Pro, and it's an awesome phone.

MIUI 8 is super stable that I've never had to look at putting in CM on it. If you on contract then lookout for the MTN deal for 2 x Redmi 2 Pro's for R199pm + 50 minutes and 300mb data pm.
