Xiaomi Mi A2/A2 Lite

I've had mine for a month or so. Proximity sensor works fine and no other gripes thus far.

I got my A2 Lite last week Friday and I am really impressed by the battery life. I will say that the stock launcher isn't to my liking, so I installed Nova.

The one persistent problem is the light sensor. It works well most of the time, but some times the display just dims for like 20 seconds and then it goes back to normal. It bothered me to the point where I have switched off adaptive brightness.

I came from an S7 flat. Besides the obvious hardware downgrade, AOSP isn't as polished as I expected it to be. The last time I used an AOSP ROM was back when I was rocking a Desire Z. Since 2013, I've been on Sense and TouchWiz/Samsung Experience. I am happy there's no bloat, but I do miss some of the features of a skinned ROM, but I am getting used to it.

All in all though, I am a happy camper and will highly recommend the A2 light to anyone (except phone photographer and gamers).

Most Xiaomi phone's stuffer from light sensor laziness. Had it on my Mi A1, also an occasional issue on my Mi Max 3

My phone is apparently up to date on Oreo. Did you do anything to force the update?
Just checked my mom's phone is also on 8.1 with no available update. It is said to be rolling out in batches though.

I had a look around XDA and the full fat A2 had its Pie update roll out before the A2 Lite. So that explains that.

The roll out of Pie for the A2 Lite is underway. It just hasn't reached us yet.

Is anyone else experiencing their phone waking in their pockets? I think it has to do with the double tap to wake function. My screen always faces my leg when in pocket and the phone probably still picks up touches through the pocket material.

It's annoying because, once awake, the screen keeps registering touches, somehow the notification drawer gets pulled down and various things get enabled/disabled. Also, the phone doesn't get a chance to go back to sleep.

I can't find any option to disable the double tap to wake.

No I'm not experiencing that, although my phone doesn't wake on double tap, not sure how you enabled it.

What I am experiencing:
- Notifications to the right of notch toggles between displaying app icon and dot almost continuously
- Phone seems to vibrate randomly while using it
- Sometimes cannot stop alarm, have to restart phone to disable sound

I did some research and found that there are 2 suppliers of the displays and depending on who supplied the screen, some phones have double tap to wake. It can be turned off by rooting and changing some values in 2 configuration files.

I am also experiencing the notification thing. It's one of the drawbacks of the dreaded notch. When data is being transferred over the network, 2 arrows are displayed. Making space for those arrows forces notifications to the left of it to minimise to a dot.

I'm not experiencing your other issues, so I can't help you there.

Looking at buying a Mi A2 from Gearbest they currently have a flash sale for $210. Question - what is the shipping like? Do you guys use registered airmail or expedited shipping? Is it to your door or post office? Thanks!

Priority line, actually. Seems Gearbest has removed that option......again. Me personally, I won't get a phone via any of those two options. Expedited comes via EMS, post office. Actually both of those options is post office.

Ahh bummer. Don't want to risk it through the post office. Thanks!

Im interested in the A2 Lite, however, I would just like to find out if anyone has any problems with the phone randomly rebooting/crashing. Thats the issue I have with my Redmi 3S prime, especially during game play.

Expedited is DHL. And they are really fast
