Xiaomi Mi Box / Mi Box S [Android TV OS]

Is anyone managing to get Kodi to access their NTFS hdd?
 
I can finally power my TV off and on with the Mi remote

Some people have 4K TVs from before HDR became a thing or these budget Sinotec etc TVs that don't have HDR, so if you played something with HDR it looked horrible and washed out, now it will look normal with the correct colours.
 
Not a fan of the new vertical lay out, hey. Will take some time to get use to.
 
Can anyone confirm if the same issue regarding the HDD exist on SPMC as well? I cant upgrade until these issues are sorted :-(

This is potentially a game breaker for me. I've ripped all buy kids DVDs to iso on an external which they then watch via the mibox. If oreo won't let the MiBox access the external that pretty much voids 90% of our usage.

Tried SPMC yesterday - same issue.
Also tried Kodi 18 Leiea Alpha 2 (whatever the spelling) - same issue.

Seems to be app related.
Kodi and MxPlayer can't read the hdd.
But VLC can.
