Xiaomi Mi Box / Mi Box S [Android TV OS]

My S is still on version 9. always says its up to date. Whats the official current version if 12 was pulled?
9 it is, same as mine ... I don't think they're ever going to offer us the upgrade again ... it's been over a year. Although most of the issues was corrected, I feel there is still something that they as the Devs are not happy about?

12 was skipped by a lot of manufacturers - so there is probably a reason for 12 being skipped.

My Xiaomi Mi Box 4K 2nd gen. is up-to-date on version 11, it tells me, having just checked it for updates.
Might've come out with ver. 10 ? ; I don't remember and not that concerned.

Dankie.
The Mi box 3rd gen supposedly comes with Android TV 14.

Thanks but doesn't worry me having only 11, as long as they don't cut-off apps from using it.

I find my 2nd gen lags at times and it periodically complains about being out of storage space.

When I next need one, I'd like it to have a minimum of 4GB RAM and 16GB storage ; if the gen 3 only has 2GB RAM, even with 32GB storage, think I'd rather go for something else. I thought the Netogy had 4GB RAM but having just checked, the model I saw doesn't.

Will have to worry about it when the time comes ; I'll probably need a new phone before streaming device,, anyway.

The Wife is very happy with the Xiaomi Mi 4K TV Streaming Stick, I took a chance with on special, 8+ hours, a day all week, every week.

So I am not going to complain. :)
Replaced my sons aging TV stick with the 4k one, he only has a 1080p tv but it works.

It would, work nicely. She has 55 inch Samsung 4K TV though. Not everything she watches is 4K tho.
Yup he is happy cause it doesn't lag anymore :-) though he does say sometimes it flicks to blue, I'll have to see why it does that.

I ran mine for more than a year. It is great. But, since I have been using my Mi Box (from MyBroadband  ) it is noticeable how much quicker it is and it has some OS features that make it more enjoyable.

Happy with my Mi-Box S 2nd Generation, when the 3rd Gen. device becomes available, I will buy it, and gift the Gen. 2 box to my Foster Son, who is still rocking a Telkom LIT box

Is there something else on the same plug that switches on/off at random intervals?

I have the same issue with a HTPC connected to a TV in the braairoom ... when the fridge on the same plug kicks on/off the screen sometimes gives a quick blue flash.

Could be the HDMI cable ... Is there something else on the same plug that switches on/off at random intervals?

Yeah could be, I'll have to check.

Reason im thinking it's HDMI is cause the PC stays on, TV stays on, it's just loosing signal between PC and Tv for a second or two ... and it's the same blue screen as if you would pull the HDMi from socket.

It's also loosing audio and that audio is ONLY carried by HDMI

Yeah sounds familiar and it is "hanging" from a HDMI extender, cause those TV sticks don't really fit into hdmi ports :-)

Mine came with one.

The only issue I have is when it is completely powered off the remote batteries run down. My Mibox 2nd Gen is permanently powered on in the bedroom and the remote (one I bought on TA) has never had an issue like that. I suspect it has something to do with it trying to connect non stop when the stick is powered off.

If I keep it powered on the batteries are fine though.
