Wife's Redmi Note 4 (Stock Global ROM) hung on boot the other day, then totally bricked.
Can still pick it up on SP Tools but none of the usual fixes are sorting it.

Love this phone - quite depressed it self-bricked out of the blue.

Get to EDL mode from fastboot, then flash the ROM from there:

Thanks - tried that a bit earlier with no luck.
Cant seem to get the phone into EDL mode. No display at all, phone still detected by SP Flash Tool when connecting with volume down though.

I've sent mine directly to mia, they arranged for Ram to collect within hours of contract.

Looks like my package got confiscated by security. On the tracking site it just says:
Guangzhou, security return
I contacted the seller but havent received a reply yet.

I also contacted MIA and they advised that they will be receiving stock in 4-6 weeks. So hoping they get the correct ones

Yes that happens with Chinese post - had a package that got rejected 3 times, they just keep sending it back and eventually it goes through!

For those that ordered the Banggood special I just got my phone and they included malware free of charge so I suggest flashing your phone before setting it up or at least check your phone.

Edit: to fix it I used the following guides (EDL (Emergency Download) mode) worked for me:

I ordered a note 4 off banggood. What malware? I'm still waiting for it though. It was supposed to be delivered to a drop shipper in Hong Kong. But they sent it to Germany for some reason

Registered Airmail was free for 15 - 30 days. EMS was R600 for 7 - 15 days. I can wait

I have no idea. First time I'm doing this and I used PO address. I used PayPal aswell so I feel a bit safer. I'm sure one of the guys here who import on the regular will know...

Apparently the cable it ships with doesn't support fast charging although the phone does. Did you order the cable seperate?
