You are a light user :D
Yes as I've gotten older and more devices my usage has changed. All my games have moved to the tablet. Only Clash and Thunee are left on my phone.

Also I am a teacher. Not allowed to be on the phone in class. Which sucks azz

Was the r600 with customs, or just their clearance fees?

The last phones I brought in from Gearbest was about $30 US for DHL and R310 for Customs & clearing charges each. Ordered on a Sunday and had my phone by Thursday. Had a second package with covers and cables + quick charger that only cost $30 US for DHL with no import duty and took 3 days to my door.

Edit: Import problem in SA is not the shipping to get here, its getting it through customs in a timely manor, for that I rather pay someone like DHL that is local to speed things up. Heard 2 many horror stories of packages going missing via post or waiting for clearance for months on end.

I see GeekBuying have the Note 4 for $169. Maybe I must order that, EMS is another R$50 - but I'm ok with registered mail. I've had less problems with registered mail than couriers.

If it doesn't arrive, I just get a refund from Paypal.

I have that same idea right now.

But I will be going for the Note 4X as I prefer the SD-based phones :)

I too want the black one. But if it's going to live inside a cover all its life is it really worth it?

I just prefer a black front facia as the small black border of the Note 4 models with a white facia would drive me insane

As I understand it the Note 4 has the MTK chipset, the Note 4X has the SnapDragon but the 4X in India has a Global ROM and more network band support whereas the 4X China version has a China ROM and less network support.

Or ek weet nie. Even I'm confused

Mine will just go in a clear silicone cover for its life :p

Here's my Banggood list:

Basically the phone, two tempered glass screen protectors and three cases for R2400. But then shipping comes into play...

Banggood is actually cheaper. R2550 with EMS shipping.

I will do some comparisons tonight, maybe punch it into a Google Sheets document and compare the various sites and what their prices and availability is like.

I have noticed some of the cases aren't compatible as they are for the Note 4 and not the Note 4X specifically. The location of the IR blaster is one of the changed between versions

Ordered mine this morning at TakeaLot. Is it necessary flash or is the standard software OK? It's the 3gb model

Stick with the "Global ROM" version. It will come pre-installed with Google Play services and shouldn't have any Chinese apps.

It's called the Note 4 Global, they drop the 'x' from the name for whatever reason.

I don't mind buying the 4X version and loading the Global ROM myself. But my concern is accessories as covers and things for the Note 4 (which has the same layout as the Note 4 Global) seems to be more prevalent than for the 4X which sports a slightly different design
