Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

My Note 4 left Singapore two days ago.

By the time I receive it the Note 5 will be out :D

My covers are still stuck under processing over at Gearbest :(

Guess I should not have taken the bloody Air-mouse/IR Blaster on the same order. Its the only item that shows "ships on 04 May". When I saw 1 day Special for $5 I just could not resist.

Testing out Franco Kernel on 28th NOS build with Magisk, Servicely and Naptime installed. On 86% with 1h28m screen on so far. Let's see how it goes...

For those that missed the eBucks deal, I see Gearbest have Black Xiaomi note 4 SD625 (3/32 Gig) on Sale for $170. http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_620903.html

If you are interested.

awesome thanks for the heads up!

Cool, I see
Note 4 = $170
Note 4X = $179

Only diff in specs is literally Bluetooth and a couple of LTE Bands. http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8580&idPhone2=8531

Currently on 4X and I must say I love this phone, so much that my Mi5 is back in the box.

i also found this on GB http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_604987.html?wid=4

it is a Note 4 3/64 for $166. the only difference i can see is that it has the Helio X20 rather than Snapdragon 625.

Does anyone have it? how does it compare? because it's cheaper and higher on board memory

I had a Note 4 x20 that I used for about a month and then sold it to a friend in order to get a Note 4X SD625. The X20 battery did not last as long as the SD625 but was a small margin faster. Also if you not really bothered about flashing ROM's I see no problems getting it at all. Reason I mention flashing is that most international dev's will most likely have access to the SD625 as X20 is for sale in Asia only.

Performance comparison: (Benchmarks)
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (MediaTek)

Thanks for the detailed reply! people like you make this forum awesome

most likely will jump on the SD625 later this afternoon. Dual sim and battery longevity is more of a plus to me than additional storage space. can always manage that on the side.

from what i read in other posts the additional costs should be:
DHL around $30
insurance $6
customs etc with DHL R300

which should bring the total to +- R3000 each.

does that sound about right?

DHL customs cost varies based on R/$ but should be about R300-350 but yes that sounds about right.

Side Note: I still haven't figured out what the difference between DHL(EXT), DHL(HK) and plain DHL is. I used all 3 and they all get here in the same amount of time. Maybe someone else can help here?

I have a spare case that fits the Redmi Note 3 Special Edition (152mm) that I want to sell as I don't own the phone anymore. It is a genuine leather case. I payed around R90 for it + R30 customs. So I am willing to sell it for R200 shipping included. I am based in Bloemfontein. Check the Imgur link to see what it looks like:

Any takers?

The Redmi Note 3 can hold it's own against the more expensive Huawei P9 Lite. I think the covers and screen protectors on Takealot are the right ones for the Redmi Note 3 16gb.

Seems like the user reviews state that the screen protectors are 2mm short.
