Those are some impressive stats. I can't see why anyone would be going for a phone that isn't a Xiaomi right now. Amazing stats for the price. Puts Samsung and Apple to shame.

Problem with Xiaomi is that the SP don't wanna push it on contracts as the end users can remove whatever bloat they try and push.
And
Most people can not afford buying a 3K phone so are stuck with monthly payments for below par devices.

Edit: Apple users are a breed of their own so I never compare them

It's true. The SPs are still pushing the same old tired deals with the same old tired phones for the most part. Except maybe Telkom who have some pretty decent offerings nowadays.

I got a redmi note 2 on contract with VC. It can be done but it seems to be though places like Dion Wired.

sorry my bad, This was for customs and their handling fee. So this is everything that I had to pay.
Ill sum all my cost up.

Phone $250
Deliver on Gearbest website using Aramex: $10
Gearbest delivery insurance: $6
import duties + aramex handling fee: R550
Delivery time was 2 or 3 weeks.

All in all it worked out at about R4000 to get the phones in my hands.

Not that I have seen. Bringing in 5 as I type here to see which one I like, will be geting rid of the rest.

Edit: note you do not need to focus on Note 4X, Note 4 will do. Have a Gel cover curently that I picked up from Takealot and it fits perfectly.(They Not there anymore)

Won't the location of the infrared port be an issue between the devices (4/4x)?

Oh! look at that. Only see now that the Note 4 gel cover, covers it. Did not notice as IR was still working. Good thing I only bought Note 4X covers then.

Is it normal for GB to ask for proof of ID before dispatch?
 
My friend bought the Note 4x,I think in black, 3/32 with DHL EXT for R2.9k
 
My Note 4 left Singapore two days ago.

By the time I receive it the Note 5 will be out :D
