Xiaomi Note 3 now R1899

Is that only for LOS? cos I'm on 19th May build of NOS with unofficial unlock

Only for LOS for now, but I this might filter through to the custom ROMs too - so just something to keep in mind if you get Error 7 while flashing at some point.

My phone took a dip in a shallow basin of water last night:wtf:
Only noticed when i took the phone out that the back was wet...turned it off and wiped it off.let it sit overnight and it seems fine.all the parts i care about work, havnt found anything borked yet

Ok peeps - just managed to get Nitrogen going on my Redmi Note 3 KATE (not KENZO). Thought I'd document the steps:
- request unlock from MIUI (I was fortunate, got the SMS in 5 minutes!)
- Miui unlock tool on PC didn't work, so I had to follow all of: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=497620&pid=10059403
- then I got a message about "binding time too short, wait 72 hours" from MIUI when using unclock tool on PC.
- however, installing v1.1 of the unlock tool got around this: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=536201&highlight=mi+unlock+tool
- unlock worked! On to installing twrp: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/zcx-twrp-install-twrp-flash-supersu-t3462448
- on twrp - do a complete backup of your system!
- then wiped ALL partitions and options on twrp (i kept install zips on usb drive that I attach with usb-otg)
- used twrp to install supersu
- used twrp to install kate firmware: https://forum.xda-developers.com/re.../kenzo-miui-firmware-7-2-16-download-t3558098
- then used twrp to install nitrogen: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/rom-nitrogen-os-11-01-2017-t3536211
- then used twrp to install gapps: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-dynamic-gapps-t3487192
- then used kate to install radon kernel: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72265569&postcount=10061
- cleaned dalvik and cache, rebooted into Nitrogen!

I went through the exact process this morning.

I haven't loaded a different kernel though. Why did you flash it?

So far I am enjoying Nitrogen

Just heard many people rave about Radon, specifically the battery saving results

Why do you prefer Nitrogen instead of CM? sorry for all the questions but I just wanna make sure. Flashing the Xiaomi is a bit more tricky than what it used to be on my Samsung Galaxy.

I'm also considering Lineage OS

Apologies for late responses. Work is hectic. NOS has an active dev who listens to bugs for fixing. It has the best mix of features as opposed to LOS which is basic.

Radon is brilliant. If not for battery saving, then QC2.0 enabling.

Thanks, have been on NOS since this morning and enjoying it.

Gonna flash Radon to test QC now

Glad I made the jump to Nitrogen OS and Radon kernel!

Quick charge is awesome, battery life is great (2% drain over night), can now install apps on my SD card to free up space.

What kernel app are you using. Ex Kernel Manger is great. Kernel Adituor is good as well. Just ad supported.

The colour control is neat as well. Using it for a more saturated look.

I have this weird issue where after every reboot, the default keyboard (swiftkey) is no longer set and also the default launcher (I use Nova) is not set. Any ideas why?

Hi guys

My phone just stopped charging

Tried a car charger as well as a powerbank

Any idea ???

A week into Nitrogen, it's been solid and I'm enjoying! When do we think Android O will hit our device?

Anyone using FNB sim in their Note 3? Mine is almost unusable. Speedtest gives a network communication error 80% of the time. Any settings I need to change or is this normal for FNB.
