Xiaomi Redmi connectivity issue with PC

I am unable to connect my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 to my laptop with the data cable. It simple does not pick it up and I get a message from windows that it does not recognize the usb device.

I have tried debugging and developer mode & stuff, even google does not know an answer that works.

Nothing physically wrong with the phone, cable or laptop usb port. Does the same on other PC's

Anybody have any advise?

Try it with another cable. I had a similar issue that was sorted with a new cable.

Re install the drivers

It's android that is the problem. Android has always had issues connecting via USB. Every single phone I had. Samsung. LG. China.

If you have wifi/router. Use MIUI ShareMe app, usually preinstalled on device. . Works brilliantly.
