Xiaomi Redmi Note 4/4X

The Redmi 4X has a bigger battery and lasts for over a day on charge but I don't think it's Full HD.

Mistake maybe? Redmi 4x or Redmi note 4x? The note 4X is almost the same price as J7 Prime so rather go for it.
I purchased the Redmi Note 4x at the beginning of the month. My experience so far:
1) Battery Life - wow! If I play Real Racing 3, leave the phone screen on, bluetooth, wifi - I can make it from the morning to the evening of the next day when the 10% warning comes up.
2) Camera - no, don't expect to make any memories. Have a Samsung S7 and proper camera if I need to take pics.
3) Accessories - Can't find the Xiaomi branded phone cover, went for the only cover I could find on Takealot - It does the job but the edges aren't perfect, cover is stretched in some places. Doesn't bother me as it has helped with a phone fall so the cover does it's job.
4) Screen quality - just as good as my s7 edge. Screen is easy to clean, no scratches, feels solid.
5) Software - standard stock rom with all updates applied works, although I have to figure out why the brightness doesn't always adjust when I want it to. The slider moves but the brightness stays the same - happens on the odd occasion.
6) Screen casting to my TV - tested with Real Racing 3, there is a noticeable millisecond delay when watching the TV, also dropped frames when casting Skype to the TV - don't have these issues on the S7.
Overall, for the price I paid compared to the price of the S7 - the Redmi Note 4x is a brilliant phone and I haven't regretted my purchase at all! For my next phone, I'll definitely look at another Xiaomi but it would need to have a proper camera.

So I was looking for slightly cheaper if possible, otherwise don't you think better to just get Samsung?

I got the white one...it doesn't actually fit. Line up the buttons and the bottom of the screen is cut off (and the front facing camera but I don't use that).
I have the same problem with the black one.

Honestly.. I'd prefer any Samsung over xiaomis.. miui has many features stripped off stock Android and it sucks.
Like?
Why would you pay more for a worse performing, lower memory and battery life Samsung instead of getting a much cheaper Xiaomi, and either rooting or using a launcher to fix the "stripped off" features problem?

Can't reply to notifications properly, status bar icons don't change colour on some apps, optimizations, sync difficulties, multi-tasking.. I was already considering flashing a custom ROM 24 hours after buying this phone.

Well.. he did say he wanted something cheaper after I recommended a xiaomi.. but obviously no one wants a 720p phone also right? Cause the lower xiaomi models got em.
Oh - but that's a software thing. I flashed mine. Don't like MIUI

Oyeah, of which some aren't fixed even on miui 9, which has been in beta for monnnnnnttthhssss.. I'm just surprised they are dragging their feet when their sales are booming.

Sorry, should have spelt out that I'm gonna try get the phone overseas, which basically makes the samsung the same price and the Xiaomi - if comparing it just to SA prices, the Xiaomi is definitely cheaper!
