XP Lagging (Very Slow)

Thanks Teraside and everyone else for their support.

One question. Should I download all those drivers listed? Including BIOS, LAN etc?

No big guy ;) Download only these for Windows XP (not 64bit):

AUDIO
LAN
UTILITIES (if you want to, it's not a necessity)
VGA

That's it ;)

THANKS!

Should I pay cheque or cash? ;) :D

It's free, the good thing is, now you know for future ;)

I'm trying to see which Nforce chipset you have, then I'll tell you which Nforce drivers to download :D

Teraside

So for the time being, I should stick to the Asus VGA driver? I've downloaded the driver from NVidia.com before, so I beleive it's the right one. ;)

If you have downloaded the driver from Nvidia, I'd say it's best to do that ;) Saves time.

As for the Nforce drivers, the only Nforce drivers with integrated graphics I find is for Windows Vista, so that won't help you either.

Get the Nvidia drivers ;)

check out driver genius

awesome proggie will list all your hardware and download the latest drivers

Teraside,

Extraction wizard can't read those files. I get an error message "Error reading file" with all drivers. Corrupted maybe?

I downloaded it with Flashget. Find it better the FDM.

Also, there is no setup file. :(

Maybe another website?

Okay, I'm running on Vista, so this description might be poor.

Extract the RIS folder>open device manager>double click on network card>click driver>update driver>browse for files>locate the nvris32 folder, double click on the file it shows and install.

I think the network card drivers installed now might corrupt the downloads? ;)

No Network Card Option. Only Network adapters and the only one listed there is iBurst Terminal.

Teraside, May I have your MSN address so we could try and sort out this problem directly?

Tera,

Got it fixed by downloading each driver seperately.

PS: Don't know where you went there, but thank you. ;)

Hey man! I still remember my last instant message to you, when I pressed enter > blackout, the whole town lost power, sorry about that ;)

Glad you got it fixed, if the speed is a still an issue, let us know.

Ciao dude

Got everything fixed up to a point where my PC is usable. ;)

Installed Forceware driver for GPU
Installed Sound Drivers

Yet now, I still need to download the driver for my motherboard. I have a pretty good idea that it's the nForce 430/410. I'm still missing a few things like the network card driver, which that download includes. Please tell me if I'm wrong. To me, it looks like my answer. :)

Best is to create a system restore point. Name it pre-nforce or something.

Try the driver and if it fails, before your pc shows the windows boot sequence, hit F8 continually until you see a few options, boot into safe mode and restore the system back.

;)

Thanks,

Installed the nForce 430 Driver. Now I only have one thing missing in the device manager - PCI Simple Communications Controller. Where do I find this driver?

Also, there seems to be an unknown device there. Not sure what it's supposed to be.
