Xvid files

Hey

I've got a xvid file which none of my players can play..

Any help regarding a free program or codecs which should enable me to play the file?
I've got the following programs installed:

- Windows Media Player
- Windows Media Player classic

+1 (VLC playback quality can be unsatisfactory if you picky and other packs tend be heavier even though they attach a 'lite' to their name)

or if you want even more slim instead of these codec packs, just download and install

have you tried the k-lite codec pack? Bundled with the pack is G-Spot Codec Info tool, lets you find out what type of codec was used.

VLC can play some broken files too - damaged index - that is a bonus.

i suggest you make some transfer to onther formats and have try, imtoo divx to dvd converter may be useful. lol

find another one, if you don't wanna transfer it to DVD, you could try this imtoo video converter

g-spot a good shout. it will also tell you if the video is corrupt iirc

VLC is Tops

+1 for VLC haven't had any issue with it and it plays everything.

A nice tool is a 1.5x and 2.0x fast forward with sound.
