A friend recently bought a lot of yealink handsets on auction, all in very good condition.

Unfortunately some of them had the phones (Desktop phones) locked beforehand and he is unable to factory reset them.

I tried upgrading the firmware from usb but it's not working either.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thank in advance.

While the phone is off hold down the speaker button , you will need to created an config file in XML and use a TFTP sever. If the phone was provisioned using yealink provisioning server, you may have issues. Unless you either get yealink to remove the mac address from their servers or you manually configure the phones not to reach out RPS.

That is the correct way to get the phone into the recovery mode.
And you can request that Yealink remove the phone from RPS from the support website. You just create an account and then put in the details of the phone.
