Year End Functions

They had a venue booked but after omicron it got cancelled and they are gonna send us all something instead.

We are a relatively small company +-30 people. Though for year-end stuff normally only around 20-25 people show up. So one year we did escape rooms where we were split up in 4/5 groups. The place was somewhere in Cape Town. After the escape rooms we went to a place beside it where they had VR headsets and let the people people game around. Was my first time experiencing VR and it was funny seeing people fall when the vertigo hit. One girl literally screamed on the "imaginary" roller-coaster. People laughed at her and took videos. This was like 2017. Good times.

Everybody loves a screamer

I prefer braais in an open environment, preferably not anyone's place, everyone is free to mingle or mind their business, everyone is free to leave at any time, it's a relaxing time with no drama. I avoid restaurants and other formal setups where I would have to sit at a table and make small talk with people, especially people I don't like.

We no longer have those ever since the fatcat CEO who takes all the millions got here and went on some "cost cutting" exercise.

We must work together.

You have Covid???
No, came into contact with someone on Saturday at kids bday party that tested positive on Monday.

No symptoms and feel fine but we have strict procedures so cant go to office for 1 week + isolating at home just in case.

We played croquet.
Was actually quite fun.

My worst experience ever has to be that place you dress up in medieval costumes - green blankets or something, Once is enough , for life. Silly demeaning games, stupid salt rules - companies are paying good money for it and you get saltless food while having to do stupid things. Like I said, once is enough, but no, every company I went to had the bright idea to go to this joint. Also, I don't know why this is, but the HR department thinks that after a hard years work, the staff want to play silly parlour games. I envy the guy who got the shwarma take away coupon.
