Yes, LCD really *is* better than plasma!

How many people still use incandescent lighting instead of the energy savers? How many people here leave their pc's running all the time?

I can live with the 340w my plasma draws while its on. ;)

..but do you switch it off when that RED Alert comes on SABC 2??;)

I only want a cheap 32" inch until 1080p becomes standard... so I was thinking of the Samsing 32" Bordeaux for 9k... just waiting for my damn salary to arrive in my account.
oooooh! that thing is SEXY!!!! where would you buy that tv though? who stocks it locally?

Game (R9999) & Dion (R8999) have an identical looking Samsung model, one model down I think. Makro have the full L32R81...which is R9999.99.

Game also have the 42" for R18999.99

Its *** ugly though... if you're talking about the 42" plasma at Game, etc. It's res is only 852 x ***, a lot less than the LCDs.

nahh, not the plasma sinotech :P the 42" lcd sinotechs... i had the 32 and 42 inch lcd's demoed to me. i'm quite impressed! at the price, cant really go wrong if you have a 4/5 year warranty.

where'd you see 'em? As far as i remember, the contract ratio on the sinotec LCD's isn't very good...

I know my parents bought the sinotec 42" plasma from game.

Yup, I just checked the contrast ratio on the Sinotec LCDs are terrible compared to the Samsung one
Sinotec 32" LCD: 1200:1
Samsung 32" LCD: 8000:1

....on average four times more than the old cathode ray televisions or monitors and almost double a similar size LCD screen.

It might say similar size but where does it state of similar quality.... maybe thats why the plasma's draw more power?
