Yes, LCD really *is* better than plasma!

I would certainly go for the Samsung, be careful with these cheaper / unknown brands. There's usually a very good reason why you see brands like Maxdorf in Cash Converters

So would you guys go for the Sinotec over the Samsung?

It might say similar size but where does it state of similar quality.... maybe thats why the plasma's draw more power?

LCD and Plasma are two totally different technologies, Plasma draw much more current then LCD because the plasma has to light up so much gas bubbles to give a good color picture. I would go for Sony Bravia LCD, but they are overpriced, next best is the Samsung 32" or 37" LCD.Plasma's give off way too much heat, that why I changed my 42" Plasma for a 37" LCD.

I currently have a 37" Mecer LCD and it deliver it's good very nicely. I did not buy a high user end LCD because the current network does not broadcast HD signal as yet, so when HD is here I will buy the latest LCD at half the price we are paying now for a real HDTV.

but i dont see how LCD is better because it uses less electricity? LCD does have a flaw where light leakage causes less colour saturation than that of plasma
