I think many of these groups online are simple crude expressions of an understandable feeling of marginalisation and discrimination that white people are feeling in this country. We feel like we have no political representation.
 
some people just have a bad opinion or comment , thats why they make a remark on colour , not everyone is like that?
 
It's difficult to believe in a society that contains members that are different in any way (language, skin colour, culture, operating system preference) that has no conflict. So my first reaction to this article is: "duh!".

It's easy to expect that, given a medium that engenders anonymity, any frustrations that lead to lashing out and opinions - that cannot otherwise be aired in 'real life' - would be polarized to the extreme.

Essentially, I agree with Debbie2 in that many of these statements are simply the expressions of people who, given the medium through which they communicate and the maturity that they have reached up to now, can't sit back and think before pressing "save/submit".

Agreed.

The internet is an escapism to a lot of people as well as a place for people to air their thoughts and opinions - usually frowned upon by common society. The whole point of "freedom" is to be able to express one's views without being oppressed by those that disagree or disapprove. Where there are people that feel one way about something, it's guaranteed that there will always be those that feel the opposite.

Personally, I don't get the problem? It's as though some gossip hound ran into something "unheard of" and just had to tell someone as though it were the most juicy story this century. Yes, there are people that are racist, yes there are people that like cherry-flavoured cold drink and, omg, yes there are in fact people that don't. It's human to disagree and have individual opinions on things. Big whoop.

Now to wait until someone discovers a group on Facebook that doesn't believe in God.
 
I avoid race bashing forums - just not my thing. The whole racism thing is such a tired old topic! People hating others on the basis of skin color, culture & sexuality are clearly very narrow minded!

Yes it is narrow minded just like the concept of affirmative action hence the feeling of marginalisation in some communities. The race-related debacles in sports is definitely not helping matters either.

The best way I can describe affirmative action is like cutting down a huge tree, then placing a pot plant on the remaining stump and expecting it to give the same shade as before:o.

The rainbow nation will only ever be a theoretical concept until we become non-racial in all aspects including job opportunities.
 
What about the press conference where no white people were allowed? I am not condoning this race bashing, it is just because they are white that it is an issue, if they were black then it would have been like a candle in the wind.

um.. no he didn't.. he outlawed racial discrimination on one side and legalized it on the other side to "balance things out" as it were, which ofcourse is never going to work, you have to be retarded to think it ever would. Im a little tired of this "Mandela = Jesus" analogy. The guy was a terrorist who killed people for what he believed in. What makes him any better than any other murderer? They all think they are right.. Because he got himself imprisoned for 27 years? Big accomplishment, too bad it wasn't up to him anyway. Seems to me people give him credit for things that were actually completely out of his control. He was pushed into a role that the international world and white south africans wanted him to play, and he played it. I don't hate him, but im not gonna pretend he is some enlightened being that loves everyone and has flower scented farts.

And as for the Afrikaaners.. weird how they see being Afrikaans as being "pure white". We all know 10% of their ancestory is made up by black people. They are a mixed race and don't wanna accept it.

What is so shocking about it? Tell a young white guy that life is all fun and games when his CV does not get accepted because he is not AA or BEE.

Gov promotes racist hatred then is shocked by it? :confused::confused::confused:

The SAHRC are a bunch of white-guilt liberals. No surprise to see their stance that everything white = evil, black = good. Can't they see the ANC is promoting racist feelings through their own policies? Oh wait...!
