YOUR car appreciation thread :)

You should reverse this :

Is there anyone that has bought a car (ie used their own money) and they now regret it? Seems people always defend their own cars no matter what ...

Peugeot :) Now a lot of the guys on the forum knows about my story

We do have a Merc C200K automatic that is just amazing. Will get it's 100k next month and nothing's gone funky yet (had a seatbelt issue once but all cars in SA has the same seatbelts, made by a place in Cape Town). Getting fuel consumptions of 6.2-6.8 liters/100km on the highway too...

I loves my C200K... its just so serene and breezes through everything so effortlessly.

i loves mine too, even though it drinks petrol like its going out of fashion and uses tires up more quickly than you can say: "howdy hi" ... :D

Well, I have a 2007 SEAT Ibiza 2.0 Sport. Love the car, and even with VW pulling the SEAT brand I will not sell my car. I even tried to buy another when I heard they would not be bringing anymore new ones in, but unfortunately with current financial markets the best interest rate I could get was Prime -1, which at the time was 5% more than my current car.

2008 Bantam 1.3i (charcoalish colour with matching canopy)

LOOOOVE it.

Its a great young man's car (21). Load boards, bikes, kites, whatever in the back and off you go. New Years was too pissed to drive back so put a mattress in back and slept there, sorted :) It is nippy to but not too fast high end so I won't kill myself like some other youngsters in their 1.6 Velo****tys. Good fuel enconomy and very reliable rocam engine, last service only cost me R850.

101000000x better than my first car I got when I was 18 (Citi 1800) which was stolen.

Was sorry to hear about Seat, very nice cars!

I'm a Opel fan in general, especially the older ones like the Kadett Super Boss and Astra 200tS. I love the fact that they are really cheap and have strong engines, interior falls apart but the car can still go :p Interior has improved on the newer models luckily.

Oh and yeah I own 2 Opel Corsa's both still going strong, fuel economy could be better (around 12km/l) but performance is great and haven't had any trouble (Had a ex GSI that had some trouble but it's sold now :( ).

I'm a Honda Prelude fanatic. I have two of them. One 4th Gen and one 5th Gen. Fantastic cars!

Maybe you floor it too much :)
We get around 750km on a tank. A Merc is well-known for it's tyre-chowing.... but it's nothing terrible though. The Continental sport tyres we had on lasted 45000km, the Michelin sport tyres we have on now are on 53000km and still have around 20000km to go.

I definitely agree with OP, except I have a Tata Xenon 2.2! I hunted around the market for a reliable bakkie that was still affordable ~ I didn't find anything that was more value for money!

I love my car because it has a comfortable and spacious interior whilst still fulfilling the requirements I have for it as a work bakkie! Its also so light on fuel consumption that its almost hard to believe its a bakkie!

Very satisfied customer!!! :)

i thought this thread looked familiar :D

i forgot all about it !

I had a Ford Fiesta Ghia 1.6 Black with 17' mags , that thing was a full house, light on fuel and very reliable, good quality standard sound system. I never regret buying it. But one unfotunate day I had to path ways with it , it rolled 3 times and I regret drinking and driving. Insurance didnt pay.

I then bought this rubish Mazda Astina that I am struggling to sell. Worse mistake I've ever done. It's service is expensive, it is heavy on fuel, the slowest car on the roads even a Tata and a 1.3 Tazz is quicker and this thing is a 1.8 se. Fortunately I also have a Volvo S40 T5 2005 model which is a car for special occassions with 225/40/17 Michelin Pilot sport. My retirement car. only 14 000km on the clock. I just take out every secong week for about 2km and park it again. I love it.

I recently bought a Golf 5 2.0 Comfortline. Not bad at all I dont regret at all. Full house as well with leather seats and all.

Please buy my Astina.

I'm an Alfa fan...we had loads of em...I have 2 - and I love them both...I also like 80's Golf1 GT 2 doors with 2 doors! And then I also like German cars like BMW 325is/M3 etc...I just generally love great cars...

Atoz.

Just over 30 000 kilometres on the clock. Light on petrol, FSH, aircon, electric windows (front only), nice looking car.

Bought it cash for R62k when it had 16 000 kms on. Haven't regretted it once.
