We are considering an initiative to improve the quality of our news content (stolen the idea from FHM). We want to give away a prize per day (typically branded gear) for those guys who discover mistakes – either a grammatical error/s, technically incorrect information or factual mistakes – in our news articles.

Will you guys be keen on such an initiative and report mistakes if there is a reward for it? I think everyone wins, as long as you like the idea.

Please give your views.

Sounds like a good idea! Will get the readers to pay more attention wen reading the news :D

Would there be a specific place where one should report any errors found?
Or could it just be posted in the particular articles associated thread?
I think we will have a dedicated thread for this - no real details yet. Just wanted to know if you guys approved of the idea.

Nice idea and I hope we can correct errors in the CONTENT as well since it seems that all too often, writers don't do simple research before posting an article.

Seeing as it's for material gain, which ALWAYS gets the children squabbling, you will have to make clear, unequivocal, iron-clad rules for who wins what when and how. But bring it on, this makes my inner sub-editor rejoice!

Excellent idea!

Encouraging everyone to read all the articles will result in a far more informed group of forum members.
