I think it's been quite a while since the last thread on this, so I think it;s time for a new one.

What player do you use on your computer to play your MUSIC? Not videos etc. just music?

Can we maybe have a poll with the main things and then other?

I use iTunes but I am thinking maybe there is a better option..

iTunes, it works well enough, and it shares all the same ratings/playlists as I have on my iPod.

Back in the days I used to like WinAMP but since I no longer worry about things like how much CPU it's using etc, I'm happy enough with just iTunes.

I'm using FooBar2000. I like the way the player allows you to be flexible when it comes to playlists and simplicity. Before that, WinAMP was really good, until it started to chow down on your pc's resources!

itunes when I want to play music, or find a song quickly,

Windows Media Player 9 with klite codec pack When I want to play something quickly (11 and 10 hid too meny featres and stuff)

Tried winamp, slow as hell, overarted
Tried VLC nice backup, but buggy
Real1 player just sucks!
Found a program called Gom Player seems very nice...

Audacious + Prokyon3. It's not as good as I'd like, but it's the best combination that suits my habits, i.e. Just the music. No non-removable album art views, visualizations, long start-up times, changing your directory structure unless you disable it or anything like that.

Am I old fashioned if I use the Media Player?
For me it works well and plays everything.
Media Player 11 in Windows 7 combined with media center when hooked up to my TV/Amp.

So you also downgraded from 12 to 11?
I also use WMP... Just wish the track tagging was stable.
