Your Personal Car Emergency Kit

Hey Guys

I am just curious and maybe I will come across some items that I didnt think of.

I want to know what items you always have in your car just in case. This excludes spare tire and spanner etc.
The items I have is some cash (R100), a 4gig flash and perfume. I heard some people having water and petrol but that seems excessive.

What do you guys keep?
 
Latex gloves for car accidents, and 10mm cable ties... oh wait, that's just because I don't want to fork out R300 for proper handcuffs.

Oh, you mean for in case of a breakdown.... :D I have Mercedes on-call for that :p
 
flashlight with batteries, spare clothes, band aids (gonna get the med aid kit soon)
 
A roll of duct tape, some rope, a shovel and a bottle of bleach.

Oh and some breath mints.
 
Just buy a Honda. I have tow straps in case another, less-reliable, car needs assistance.

Oh, and a old toothbrush with the handle sharpened to use as a shank in the door pocket. Almost had an opportunity to use it the other day on a wood-be smash-grabber.

The duct tape seems interenting.... for legal purposes (eg some idiot hits off ur side mirror)
 
Jumper cables, tow rope, first aid kit, empty 5l bottle, sealed 5l water bottle, 4 x 50cm traffic cones, 2 x warning triangles/"flares" with flashing LEDs, "gardening" gloves, 3x torches (2 big, 1 small), big blanket, 2 jackets, extra hi-viz vest, some batteries, pair of handcuffs

I win! :D

Edit: forgot fire extinguisher and police baton and orange attachment for small torch turning it into a traffic wand and the 2 pepper sprays.

Enough guys here have cones, so I don't see the point of buying.
Oh yeah, I also have a hi-viz vest. Still need to convince the boss to get me a bp vest.
 
Oh! I have one of those (donated by community due to my involvedness) but not in the car. Thats on the couch close to bed.

Sheesh...

I've got a fire extinguisher, jumper cables, 2l sealed water, basic med kit, fixed blade knife & a small crowbar.

I've used all of them.
 
Seems you guys go out prepared for war... Some knives, medic kits, cables cuffs and all sorts... Where do you people live, jeez....

Mind you, non of you ever mentioned airtime on your phone, quick-dial numbers or anything like that...

I have used most of my items to assist people and in situations (cones and such for incident traffic control, water, blankets and 1st aid kit for injuries from vehicle to bicycle accidents, empty bottle to fetch petrol for car without petrol, water for a car who had a radiator leak), never in any violent acts yet.

Have a nokia with R300 rands of MTN airtime, long talk time, battery lasts days. All important numbers are stored with prefixes indicating functions/area-of-responsibility. If I am in the radio repeaters area I've got the handheld radio. But thats on my person, not part of the cars emergency kit.

My dad is part of HamNet, so he has he's handheld with him all the time. Phone and ability to call I think is the most important thing to have with you...
